ALLERGY SEASON +

HEART DECO

My small business / artistic journey began with HEART DECO.

I started by making polymer clay earrings during the pandemic.

Eventually my crafts lead to me selling at small markets in Brooklyn.

My brand was bright colors, funky shapes, and whatever cheered me and others up coming out of the pandemic.

After working a couple events I thought, “Why don’t I just organize my own?”

After working a couple events I thought,

“Why don’t I just organize my own?”

And then … the Market Extravaganza was born.

These markets quickly became my focus, and lead to the transition from HEART DECO to ALLERGY SEASON. It combined my love of creating with my passion for queer community.

Over the last three years, the MARKET EXTRAVAGANZA has:

  • Hosted 13 queer-centered markets at three different venues.

  • Provided space for 50+ queer, trans, and lesbian vendors.

  • Received 150+ applications from vendors.

  • Served thousands of guests and generated income for the venues.

  • Created a safe space for queer, trans, and lesbian community.

  • Grew my Instagram from scratch to 3,000 followers.

One of my favorite HEART DECO moments was designing and making my Pride 2022 collection. I organized a picnic and invited friends, friends of friends, and social media followers to join us and pose for some photos!

So what is Allergy Season / Heart Deco about?

Being unapologetically queer. Honest, silly, never-too-serious branding. The importance of queer community and queer love. Supporting small businesses and keeping queer (and most importantly lesbian) spaces alive.

Queer joy.
